Welcome to the November edition of El Papel, a monthly newsletter about all things Sketchboard!
Welcome to our winter break, and fundraising season! The team definitely needed the break, and we have been collectively reflecting on the last 12 years. This year alone, we were able to compensate over 100 Art Models, 8 SWers, and 7 pole hobbyists—all QTBIPOC. We were able to introduce 2 new series that highlighted SWers, Pole Hobbyists, and Fat Art Models. We've hosted 2 Figure Drawing Marathons, hosted a group art show that sold over 10 paintings. Curated 2 instructional workshops. Got to year 3 at OMCA. And all of you helped us get through our twelfth year, against all odds.
Now, we're asking for your continued commitment in 2026 and beyond. We are in the midst of our big end of year fundraising push and our goal to sustain our programming, staff and community is $100,000!! We’ve curated a Fundraiser Events Series this winter break, to help us get through the hardships. The team is excited to present various opportunities to come out and help us out. You can check out what we got in store for you under News below.
We are also asking folks to become monthly sustainers, which will help SBCo be able to plan into the future. Small and large donations both can make a huge difference for our organization and make you a sustainer of the SBCo community & mission. Sketchboard is our love letter to the world, and with your contributions, we can secure our sustainability for years to come.

Figure Drawing Fundraiser + Holiday Art Market
Come join us for part 2 in our Fundraising event Series! We’ll have a special figure drawing event inside The Wynde Gallery, while we have a Holiday Art Market in The Backyard (weather permitting, plz god).
This is in collaboration with Lizzie Rose Media’s Art Show Pop-up, dubbed under Art Angel. She urged us to have the fundraiser event here, ty Lizzie~

Come join us for part 3 in our Fundraising event Series! We’ll have a special figure drawing event at Madrone Art Bar, followed by a dance party - with live dj’s spinning records all night long.

Figure Drawing + Holiday Art Market
Come join us for part 4 in our Fundraising event Series! We’ll have a special figure drawing event inside the venue, while we have a Holiday Art Market in the larger ballrooms areas. We’ll have live music, live screenprinting, an art market, and great vibes. Come shop for the holidays and support local artists.
This is in partnership with The Oakland Grove, where we will have our Wednesday sessions and Art Markets, starting in 2026.
